BACKGROUND
Hitomi was born and raised in her family's house in Okutama, Nishitama District, Tokyo, Japan. Her father is a descendant of generations of swordsmen and sword makers from way before the Edo era. Hitomi actually had 3 older brothers, but she witnessed one of them killed by a vampire before her very eyes when she was 10. She found out that night that he was secretly a vampire hunter. Once she learned the truth of vampires, she took it upon herself to continue her brother's work in secrecy. To the public and her family, his death looked like an accident. Hitomi's personality and attitude change was seen as the emotional impact of her brother's death.

She trains hard in kendo and martial arts. When fighting vampires, she uses one of her family's katana (which was also used by her brother). She found her brother's gun after his death and keep it hidden until she felt comfortable enough to use it.

Intermediate school is where Hitomi met her best friend, Chiaki. After her brother's death and with the weight of duty to carry out her brother's legacy by vanquishing vampires, Hitomi became secluded and less social. Naturally, she was more scared and worried with the revelation of vampires and a little traumatized by witnessing her brother's death, so a newfound burden was also upon her mind, causing a hint of darkness to cloud her thoughts. Hitomi focused her abilities and energy to training and mostly kept away from peers. To some in her class, she was viewed as a little scary yet somewhat "cool" because she barely talked to anyone but at the same time kept good grades. They created their own theories on why she was the way she was but it nearly always concluded with the fact that her brother had passed away. Hitomi felt loneliness from time to time but would attempt to replace it with diligence. When Chiaki transferred from her old school to Hitomi's, Chiaki was decidedly diligent in making friends. Chiaki was well-liked in her own classroom so when she crossed paths with Hitomi, she took the challenge of befriending her. With sheer cheeriness, determination, and positivity, Hitomi's barriers were broken down for Chiaki.

She's currently enrolled in college and majoring in performing arts but she is not sure where she is heading. Her secret night work conflicts with her dreams to become a singer. Chiaki encouraged Hitomi to major in singing. The college she goes to is the Nihon University College of Art in Nerima so she commutes every so often from her home and stays there when she needs to.

APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY
Hitomi is short for her age and has a quiet and distant personality. She seems cold to her classmates because she keeps to herself. She opens up to her close friends only, but feels guilty for keeping the secrets of vampires from them. She is actually a friendly person but she is afraid of getting to know too many people. Fundamentally, she's always been somewhat shy as well. She has a silent darkness deep within her but covers it with a calm expression. When fighting vampires, she's very serious but nearly always keeps a calm and cool composure. Her thoughts are usually very practical rather than emotional.

As a child, she had been a curious, positive, adventurous, and sensitive person and that side of her comes out once she takes down those barriers around her. Even though she has the capability of killing vampires, she is actually still somewhat insecure and dependent on her family's care.

PERSPECTIVE
Right now, she is somewhat nonchalant to the things that happen around her. It is almost as if nothing can surprise her. She goes through life's motions and is searching for what, other than family, is important to her. Basically, she's looking for the purpose to her being. She's always had the drive to please others and did things according to what she perceived was needed or wanted. However, now in college, she finds herself somewhat lonely in trying to discover what she wants to do, how she wants to live her life, and for whom she is "fighting" for.

As for vampires, she doesn't find herself particularly loathing them. She thinks of it more as a duty to protect her family and to somehow, in her own small way, keep the world safer. They usually find her rather than her hunting them and would actually prefer for them not to bother her. She feels obligated to exterminate the vicious vampires that attack and efficiently does so, but her thoughts are more occupied with the prospects of where she is headed, at the moment.

As for school, she's unsure of herself. She likes singing and feels more passion towards the arts than anything but doesn't know if there's a future there for her so she's hesitant in pursuing a career. She has a lack of confidence in herself. Thus, she shies away from activities and of getting involved in projects, distracting herself with her own thoughts and with vampire hunting.

The only time she forgets all this is when she is having fun with Chiaki. Chiaki's company eases the burden of thoughts weighing on Hitomi's mind where Hitomi can laugh and smile light-heartedly.

In terms of fighting ethics or codes, she does what she has to when it comes down to life or death but is trained and disciplined well enough keep her gun in its holster and use her sword for the majority of the time. Rather than it be a matter of honor, she views marital arts as being spiritual and a matter of personal betterment. She finds her art to be more important than hunting and killing vampires.

RELATIONSHIPS
She cares for her family very much and would protect them with her life but she is very secretive with them. There are times when she wants to tell them of her 2nd life but is somewhat afraid of their reactions.

✱Chiaki✱

Hitomi only has a few close friends that she hangs out with. The closest friend to her is Chiaki Kuriyama (elrp_chiaki). Hitomi admires Chiaki's spirit and independence and feels that she can put her guard down around her.

How Chiaki & Hitomi met... and their relationship henceforth:

Basically, Hitomi was by herself, doing some activity she was good at and it caught Chiaki's attention. Chiaki surprised the solemn-looking Hitomi by stopping by and complimenting her enthusiastically. Hitomi didn't know what to say and just kept to herself. Chiaki, still enthusiastic, realized she didn't want to talk so said bye for now and left. Chiaki left an impression on her though because usually people kept their distance from Hitomi because she always kept an aura around herself that said, "Do not disturb". Chiaki cheerily greeted Hitomi from time to time though until Hitomi finally responded back and Chiaki's excitement was contagious. The icy cage around Hitomi's heart melted in Chiaki's ray of positivity and soon Hitomi was spending time with Chiaki outside of school. Though a dark secret always looms in the back of Hitomi's mind, Chiaki always gives her a smile.

Chiaki graduated from intermediate school and went on to a high school in Okutama's vicinity, still hanging out with Hitomi from time to time, hoping that Hitomi would soon join her in high school. However, around the time Hitomi moved onto high school, Chiaki needed to transfer away from Hitomi due to Chiaki's father's job relocation. This saddened Hitomi in a deep region within her heart but she kept it well hidden. Chiaki and Hitomi still kept in touch through mail and such but with their busy schedules, opportunities to meet were rare. After Hitomi graduated from high school and went on to college, with the plus of Chiaki's modeling career, they were once again within reach of each other. Now, when they have free time they spend time together in some of the 23 special wards of Tokyo.

Development:

After seeing Chiaki’s reaction to the truth of vampires, Hitomi has become more protective of her. Before her secret was revealed, Hitomi was glad to have just played innocent and enjoy her company without the darkness of vampires looming over. However now, especially with the attack on Chiaki, she feels it isn’t as safe as she had hoped. Chiaki’s tears also pained Hitomi, she doesn’t want to upset her anymore, she wants to show that she can take care of herself and Chiaki, and she wants to give her peace of mind. For some reason, Hitomi feels responsible for Chiaki now.

☽Tsuyoshi☾

At the moment, Hitomi feels comfortable around Tsuyoshi (elrp_dotsu44). Around him, she feels relaxed and like at home. She even feels welcome around his mother, who gives her food all the time and treats her like her own daughter.

✞Gackt✞

To Hitomi, Gackt (elrp_gackt) is like a comrade. She feels like she can trust and rely on him. They don't have a goody-goody relationship yet, but she feels there's respect between them. Hitomi senses that they'll be good buddies in the future, where they can joke around like equals.

PLOTTING
The general direction I want to go is the story of a relationship between Hitomi & Tsuyoshi. Chiaki also ends up becoming more a part of her day and night life. When Hitomi ponders what her purpose is, she probably ends up contemplating why her brother took it upon himself to become a vampire hunter when he was not required to do so.
